The new Democratic proposal, Assembly Bill X1-1 (Nunez) is now in print so the activity level will only increase. In the meantime, I thought I’d use this post to provide links to interesting articles and resources.

Daniel Weintraub: “Differences remain on dueling health care plans” An balanced summary of differences remaining between the health care reform plans put forward by Governor Schwarzenegger and the Democratic Legislative Leadership, published by the Sacramento Bee, November 8, 2007.
The sprint for the finish line is on with a stated goal of reaching a compromise on the framework of health care reform by the end of the month. Of course, there’s nothing stopping the process from continuing into next year, but the November 30th deadline creates a sense of urgency. Assuming a compromise is reached, a substantial portion of the reform package will be contingent on passage of an initiative the Governor and lawmakers will attempt to qualify for the November 2008 ballot.
